La Terra Trema is conceived by Visconti as a work that operates both as fiction and documentary in which the difficulties and exploration of the people deprived of their own land are seen through a surprising mixture of commotion and objectivity. Devices generally associated with objectivity such as the plastic elements of the image and the recourse to a narrative voice function as a means to hide the process of identification that lies behind the objective view they suggest. In between these two opposite narrative options, La Terra Trema addresses the spectator in an attempt to rise its critical conscience.Downloads
