Contributions of the education and teaching fields to the development of educommunication

Abstract

In this article we seek to demonstrate the relevance of graduate programs in the areas of education and teaching for the consolidation of educommunication. To do so, we conducted an integrative review of the literature, searching for theses and dissertations in the Database of Thesis and Dissertations of Capes and in the Digital Bank of Theses and Dissertations of the Brazilian Institute of Information in Science and Technology using the keyword “educommunication”. We initially obtained 241 works, of which 102 were produced in programs of the desired areas. We conclude that these programs represent a significant part of the total academic production related to educommunication and present similar standards. We thus defend that they play a major role in the development of the field.
