The contemporary reflects, in part, the logic of the control society, characterized, among other aspects, by consumption. In this scenario, both material and immaterial objects come to have value in the market, so that one of the most influential tools in this period is the use of socio-technical networks, also, involving the social behavior of individuals and their desires for belonging sharing and visibility. In this perspective, the research aims to analyze the use of images inherent to the landscape of the Pedra do Telégrafo Trail- Rio de Janeiro, Brazil- transmitted in these networks, as a factor the produces subjectivities, interfering in the increase in the number of visitors. The study looks at Latour’s Actor-Network Theory (TAR) or Actor- Network Theory (ANT), which measures the fact that the “human actor” and “non-human” can transform the social. Thus, Facebook posts were analyzed the Venturini Controversy Cartography method, which is the operationalization of ATR. For this, the contents of the publications from the year 2015 to 2017 were analyzed, on the page called “Pedra do Telégrafo-RJ”, with approximately 41 thousand participants. The clues point out that the use of socio-technical networks, in the context of consumption, may have influenced the process of transforming nature into product that starts to be configured as an object of desire, through the notion of “tourism-merchandise”.
