This article looks at the creation of the Ipiranga Museum from a new point-of-view - from that of the history of São Paulo´s scholastic education - and establishes relationships between political and cultural action mediated by the efforts of Rangel Pestana, who was a republican leader from 1880 to 1890 in the Province of São Paulo.Downloads
