This purpose of this article is to analyze the formation of the co-authoring social network structure in the area of personnel management in Brazil from 2007 to 2009 based on bibliographic production of national journals in the management area. By combining elements related to scientific approaches in the area of personnel management and social network analysis, we tried to show an overall picture of the formation of networks authored and co-authored as well as the institutions involved. Therefore, this quantitative research has analyzed the scientific production in 14 Brazilian journals of high impact. Analysis of the network of academic cooperation was made with UCINET 6.0 software. It should be emphasized that for definition of the sample of articles analyzed, the terms Personnel Management and Human Resources were used as synonyms. Results showed a low density and heterogeneity in network formation, which indicates that there is little collaboration for publication in the area, between researchers as well as institutions. However, a greater number of partnerships between institutions than among authors was observed which may signal that, internally, co-authorship relations in the area are not well structured in postgraduate programs in Brazil.Downloads
