Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the fight Against the COVID-19 pandemic in the largest French overseas region, mainly in relation to the indigenous communities in the Amazon Forest. The method used was hypothetical-deductive, with a quantitative and qualitative problem. The objectives were exploratory, descriptive, and explanatory in nature, and the collection techniques used were documentary and bibliographic research. It was concluded that the country has adopted public policies as a way to prevent the spread of the disease, including monitoring of infected citizens. However, the precariousness of the local health system, the low supply of hospital services, and also several difficulties caused by local pluralism and the geography of the territory made it difficult to manage the pandemic, especially in indigenous communities.
