Abstract

This study compares the development of affirmative action policies for women in Brazil and the United States. To delimit its scope, works with three examples in each country, seeking to interrelate them. It begins juridically situating affirmative action as a result of a sense of equality in transformation, addressing the context of its emergence. Then differentiates the justice systems of the United States and Brazil to compare the measures taken by each country.
