This paper aims at the understanding the role of Dance in Rousseau’s political philosophy and particularly in folk festivals, in spite of the few passages the philosophe has dedicated to its analysis. The discussion is mainly concerned with the definition of the essential components that define festival-dances in opposition to Ballet and mark its own performing sphere. The structural conditions for evading the solipsism in which man is trapped by society are to be found in imitation, tactile sensations and in pitié .Descargas
