This paper aims to discuss the reading strategies proposed by Solé (1998) for literary literacy, presenting a sequence of classes implemented in a High School class at a school in the Zona da Mata region in Minas Gerais. It is intended to integrate the required linguistic and aesthetic development for literature readers (BARBOSA, 2011) and human development, discussing transversal topics which are relevant to a contemporary critic and reflexive citizen, including matters of gender, race and social classes. The intervention was developed with the structure of a basic sequence of literacy classes (COSSON, 2018) focused on the book Quarto de Despejo (1960), by Carolina Maria de Jesus. Besides literary literacy, it also focused on the development and improvement of reading, writing, speaking and linguistics analysis skills, promoting their integration.
