Resumen

During the long history of waka, the total of twenty eight oficial anthologies have been published. The eighth one is Shinkokinshü, made by order of Gotoba Emperor in 1205. Princess Shokushi and Shunzei Kyôjo are the female poets with the largest number of poems selected for this anthology. The first one contributed with 49 poems and the second one with 29. Both poets lived in the same epoch and were tought by the same master, Fujiwara Teika,who was one of the organizers of this anthology. In this paper, we see how Princess Shokushi and Shunzei Kyôjo deal with the theme of past, by analyzing those poems with the expression mukashi and inishinie.
