This study aims to investigate the hybridization process that has been taking place in the contemporary scene between the artistic fields of dance and circus. It is based on studies conducted in the areas of General Systems Theory, “Corpomídia” Theory, and Cultural Hybridism Theory. We brought to the research field two Brazilian companies: Picolino Company of the Circus Arts (BA) and Cia Dani Lima (RJ), a dance company. The outline of such investigative phenomenon appears from the literature review and interviews with members / founders of these two companies, about their creative processes. This research proposes, finally, that the rapprochement between these two areas can be understood as an adaptive solution, which has allowed the continuation of their activity in the face of nowadays intense social-cultural changes, irreversibly transforming their fields.
