Abstract

This article addresses questions about the design process of the visual elements of the play Cherry Orchard by Peter Brook. Above all, it highlights the understanding of the impact of the symbolic thought for the spectacle set design on the costume design elaborated by Chloé Obolensky, a scenographer who debuted with this montage at the International Theater Research Center in 1981.
