Abstract

The interactions between theater and armed struggle in the late 1960s were multiple and complex. Besides the presence of the theme in important shows, there was an effective engagement of artists in clandestine organizations. Women played a decisive role in this context. The aim of this paper is to map out the multiple forms of these interactions and its aesthetic and cultural consequences, giving a central place to a little–known theatrical show wrote and staged by political prisoners in Tiradentes Prison, in which aspects of the guerrilla were discussed.
