Abstract

In this paper we discuss some contributions of testimonial texts to basic literature teaching. We develop an analysis of how the “testimonial literature” is addressed in oficial documents, textbooks and in some pedagogical projects. The research indicates the necessity of improving the work with testimonials in literature classes, defending its approach importance, focusing on the reflexive opening occasioned by such testimonial in relation to the links between fiction and reality, aesthetic pleasure, literature’s function and human rights.
