The article intends to analyze the galicianportuguese cantiga “Dona Ouroana, pois já besta havedes” (B 1499, V 1109) (B 1499, V 1109), by João Garcia de Guilhade, an important Portuguese troubadour who attended the court of D. Afonso X. Drawing on elements present in the critical resources, the proposed interpretation argues in favor of the
definitive inscription of the song in the GalicianPortuguese corpus that deals with women who, in current times, could be categorized as “lesbians.”
