Cecília Meireles maintained a fruitful connection with Portugal, acting, for example, in portuguese magazines between 1930 and 1950. Among these publications, we can highlight the Presence appeared in Coimbra, in 1927. Although inserted in the modernist context, the magazine defended a use of the tradition and a continuing modernism. Thus, the author found there a favorable space for the reception and dissemination of her poetry aligned with the ideals defended by the magazine. Ten of her poems were published in two issues of the magazine. This article, therefore, seeks to highlight Cecília's participation in the Presence, providing an overview of her contributions and her dialogue with the Portuguese publication.
