The first daily in Portugal: O Diário Lisbonense (1809-1813)

This study aims to present the first daily journal not yet studied in Portugal. After contextualizing the newspaper in terms of the Global History of the Press and Journalism, it seeks to figure out which framework in the face of the press of its time and who were the editors and responsible for this publication, which arose at the end of the first French invasion. The interaction of the newspaper with the city to allow a cultural and political contribution to the knowledge of the city of Lisbon at the beginning of the 19th century is another anticipated contribution of this article. It is expected to raise the desire on both sides of the Ocean to continue the investigation on the Diário Lisbonense.
