According to the "deceased author" (or “author deceased”) of Memórias Póstumas de Brás Cubas, the true reason for their death would have been a "great and useful idea", the invention of a medicine against the melancholy. Only through the book, it would be possible to produce phármakon, related to Theut, god of scripture and medicine. We propose to analyze the literary book Memórias Póstumas de Brás Cubas using medical and pharmaceutical models, besides of some phármakon-scripture chemicals elements, from Derrida’s “La pharmacie de Platon”.
