Alcoholism is considered a disease and a public health issue. It causes changes in the relationships of the members within the family group. This qualitative and descriptive study aimed to provide and evaluate proper training to family caregivers who take care of alcoholic patients, through the problem-solving technique. Three study participants reported feelings of rage, anger, difficulty of living together, sadness and helplessness. It is believed that investments in care and support to family members who are caregivers of alcoholic patients are essential to provide quality health care and well-being to these people.
