This paper attempts to think about the ontological status of digital images, the loss of the indexical dimension of cinema and the change of the relationship of belief that connects the film with the audience. For this purpose, in this article we recall some criticism of this transformation and we analyze the enunciative devices of two representative films -Big Fish (Tim Burton, 2003) and Life of Pi (Ang Lee, 2012)- of different phases of these technological changes.
