This article, based on studies of Greimas and Fontanille, aims at calling attention to visuallanguage aspects of Peter Webber's film Girl with a pearl earring (2004). To a certain extent, the film follows the composition style of the homonymous painting- one of Johannes Vermeer's masterpieces and perhaps the most poetic work of the Dutch painter artist.Downloads
