Incidência de amputação de membro inferior, unilateral: análise de prontuários

Abstract

Amputation is the loss or getting off a member by the surgery, traumas and disease. Several factors influence as in the option by this procedure as in the recuperation of the patient after the surgery. It is possible that these factors are in relation to the amputation levei, age, sex and patienfs biotype, considering the socio-economic conditíon, cultural ant the local health system as well. The objective of this work was to ídentify and correlate the factors that influence in the rehabilitation of the patients with lower extremity amputation, unilateral, under or over the knee by the analysis of the promptuaries. It was made a protocol to collect Information about the rehabilitation of 34 patients treated in two rehabilitation Centers: Centro de Preservação e Adaptação de Membros de São Paulo and Grupo de Prótese do Instituto de Ortopedia e Traumatologia do Hospital das Clínicas da Universidade de São Paulo. The obtained results demonstrate that in our sample the amputation levei is directly related with to its cause, and this one, to the age and sex of the patients. Never the less the proportion of patients with amputation due to traumatic or tumoral causes is less than it was showm by the literature
