Assistance, teaching and research in occupational therapy: a possible and necessary integration

This article is a reflection about the process developed by the Occupational Therapy Department of UFSCar, involving the activities of teaching, research and trough community assistance. The idea of not split these three academical activities has been influencing the scientific productions of its lectures and the course contents of the undergraduation Course. It also has been stimulating the integration between different professional areas in pubüc services from São Paulo Sate. This experience has demonstrated to be an efficient way to train criticai and creative occupational therapists that will be more participate in several institutions and social spaces.
