The adoption and strengthening of Interprofessional Education (IPE) in university curricula requires rigorous and systematic planning in the incorporation of IPE's theoretical, conceptual and methodological frameworks, ensuring intentionality in developing collaboration, without disregarding the reality of the courses and institutions. This case study aimed to map out possibilities for systematizing IPE initiatives in health courses, based on pre-existing curricula. A documentary analysis of the curricular components of undergraduate health courses at a public university in northeastern Brazil was carried out, following a guiding script. Systematization and data analysis were used, focusing on the core elements of IPE initiatives reported in international literature. IPE possibilities were identified in the different courses, with some presenting more than one curricular component with opportunities for interprofessional interactions per term. Common themes related to hospital care and primary health care appear as opportunities for interprofessional learning, facilitating the planning of future interprofessional activities. The IPE initiative mapping model used in this study has provided a possible path for universities that have few or no structured IPE initiatives and aim to do so.
