This work examines the imprionement of slaves because of the 1798 revolutionary movement in the city of Salvador (Bahia). All of them were included in the investigation healded by the judge Francisco Alvares da Costa Pinto. Eleven slaves, one of whom died in prision. Among the condemned, three were exiled to the West Coast of Africa: José Félix, Luís de França Pires and Cosme Damião: two were banished from Bahia: Manuel José de Vera Cruz and Inácio Pires. Only one among those slaves was African-born: the taylor´s apretice Vicente, a rental slave who worked ar the shops of master taylor João de Dias do Nascimento.Downloads
