Um pouco sobre "Campo, chinês e sono"

Through surrealist aesthetics, this text attemptsto establish parallels between a poem by Carlos Drummond de Andrade, "Campo, chinês e sono", from the book "A rosa do povo" (1944-45), and the poems in Pedra do sono, by João Cabral de Melo Neto. By using "double images" and Giuseppe Archimbold's "reversible paintings", this approximation with surrealism is also basis for interpreting Drummond's verses. Illusionism - a commmon tendency in surrealism - which can be observed both in Dali's ambiguous paintings ant in his well-know series of maleable clocks, acts also as a link between poetry and painting. Freud's discoveries about the ambiguity of dreams which was well received by the surrealists and Jung's studies on the uncounscious and on dreams are also discussed. Finally the text suggests parallels between the "mistery" found in "Campo, chinês e sono" and some of Drummond's other poems.Downloads
