In a short time Buenos Aires pass by from a social, political and urban crisis which seemed terminal, to a new touristic and economic boom, which has caused a rebirth from ashes of the most selfcomplacent representations of the city. The article tries to explain that this transition from crisis to boom didn't mean an overcoming of the crisis but, on the contrary, the crystallization of the social fracture caused for the crisis itself. It tries to show how the main urban aspects which distinguish the boom represent a direct continuation of the urban process of the decade of 1990, responsible of the crisis of 2001. And it tries to explain the role - in this cycle of crisis and boom - of ten years of "progressive" government in Buenos Aires.Downloads
