Abstract

This paper presents ethnocentrism as an impervious prejudice spread over all peoples and times. Conceived in this way, ethnocentric ideologies come from ethnocentrism and this righteously explains this prejudice. Furthermore, discriminatory and imperialistic policies are the counterparts of cultural relativism which by recognizing and giving value to a the variety of cultures gives a sound basis for a real understanding of the issue and it also allows for truly human relationships among peoples.
