In this paper, the authors studied the relation among performance, sex and the erythrosedimentation in 120 Thorougbred Horses from São Paulo's Jockey Club with ages ranging from 3 to 5 hipyc years. The animals were divided in two groups called winners and losers each one consisting of 30 females and 30 males. The analysis of the results for the evaluation of the influence of sex over the erythrosedimentation shows that at the 15th minute there is no significant difference between males and females in any one of the groups. Such difference, however, raises at the 30th minute, keeping on. Between winners and losers no significant differences were found for the males and females.
