The A.A. describe the macrocospic lesions caused in the skin of swine by the bite of the tick Ornithodorus rostratus Aragão. The incidence of those lesions in the skin of pigs slaughtered at the Anglo Packing House in Barretos, State of São Paulo, Brazil, from 1946 to 1952 is presented, as well as the industrial destination of affected carcasses. "Esso A" insecticide in aquous emulsion at the rate of 1% was tested with good results to kill the ticks in the installations.
