GEEEN INFRASTRUCTURE FOR MANDAQUI DISTRICT: A POSSIBILITY OR AN UTOPIA?

This work is an analysis of Mandaqui District under the environmental perspective, dealing with its creation and evolution process in the history of São Paulo City, its physical and socio-cultural characteristics, its environmental insertion in the community, as well as its structuring potential for the development of a green infrastructure system integrated to the Cantareira ecological core.
The work also points out some examples of American cities that have adopted, since some years, green infrastructure guidelines in their urban planning and the way those guidelines could be used in the analyzed region.
