Considerações sobre a produção historiográfica no primeiro quartel do século XX a partir do I Congresso Internacional de História da América (1922)

Abstract

The present article aims to present final results of master 's research that dealt with the circulation of intellectuals and the historiographic production in Latin America in the first quarter of the 20th century. Taking as object of study the I International Congress of History of America held from September 8 to 15, 1922 as part of the celebrations of the Centennial of Independence of Brazil, aims to demonstrate how the historiographic production in Brazil was becoming and how it was not unrelated to other countries, just as the movement of intellectuals was part of the diplomatic policy of different countries. At the end, it is concluded that the strategy of holding International Congresses of History was part of the cultural diplomacy policy established by the Foreign Ministry and that in Brazil it was already possible to observe contours of the discipline of History in the period studied.
