Seven species of Eimeria spp. cause avian coccidiosis, an enteric disease responsible for high economic losses which is controlled by anticoccidial drugs and/or live vaccines. With the purpose to set up a brief review on these parasites, general aspects of the biology, genome, transcriptome and proteome of Eimeria spp. of domestic fowl were discussed in this article.Downloads
