Abstract

This article will examine the characteristics and the meaning of spiritual universe and possession spirits of the spiritual center created by Maria Nobuko, a woman who immigrated to Brazil from Okinawa during the pre-war period, in individual and collective level. And also will discuss topics about the ethnic-religious identity of the founder and its followers, 90% of which are Okinawans or their descendents.
