Abstract

The aim is to read Borge’s “Pierre Menard, author of D. Quixote” taking the narrator’s paradoxically ironic perspective seriously. By this means we hope to show that the only way to understand the narrator’s true intentions is to read this text full of irony without irony – which is in itself an ironical assumption.
