Abstract

This article is the result of research whose goal was to understand the challenge of managers of remote workers, widely used by organisations, mainly by high-tech companies. Currently, organizations are inserted into an environment where global transformations happen with great speed as a result of technological advances. Such transformations bring several changes to the work, that adhering to flexibility has appeared in a number of ways: the remote work, home work, shared facilities, satellite centres, autonomous workers or outsourced etc. In these new forms of work, managers of people need to perform their activities of management, coordination and control remotely. Under the aspect of management processes, such as selection, training, development, achievement of goals, performance evaluation, motivation and plans for jobs and salaries among other things, the condition of the working relationship in remote mode brings several challenges for managers. Remote communication is the foundation of construction of this employment relationship between employee and Manager, and allows the Manager to assess the performance, give feedback, and even plot strategies for professional development, both from yourself, as workers who are under its responsibility. The fact is that the remote desktop can bring benefits, but also challenges to organizations, managers, workers and society in General.
