UNIVERSITY-COMPANIES RELATIONS IN THE STATE OF MATO GROSSO FROM 2002 TO 2008: A COMPARATIVE STUDY FROM THE DIRECTORY OF CNPq’S RESEARCH GROUPS

The aim of this paper is to present the characteristics of interaction between companies and universities in the State of Mato Grosso. The study of this paper became possible due to a study of the bibliographical research from the neochumpeteriana approach about the dynamics of innovation and university-industry interactions in Brazil. Later, from data provided by the Directory of CNPq's research group, a comparative analysis was performed of university-industry interactions in Brazil, Middle West, and in Mato Grosso, between 2002 and 2008. The results showed little representation of the state in relation to total research groups in the country and the region, especially in terms of interactive groups and businesses. While Mato Grosso has advanced, it is not enough to overcome the processes of late industrialization and scientific research. This proved that the activities of university-industry interactions are restricted and are concentrated in the large area of agricultural sciences, which interacts primarily with the sectors related to agriculture.Downloads
