Abstract

Reconstruction of the social and economical profles and the cultural customs of the journalist fliated to the union in São Paulo, based on feld research in 1972, realized by the Department of Journalism of the Universidade de São Paulo. Te author interprets the results of the research as a dated document that refects the nature of journalist cor- poration in the time between the Years of Lead and the Brazilian Miracle, both relevant eras in Brazilian history, under the tutelage of the military forces that deposed president João Goulart in 1964, controlling the State until the Citizen’s Constitution of 1988.
