Two wolves

Abstract

This essay compares two short stories "La Lupa", from Giovanni Verga, and "A benfazeja", from Guimarães Rosa. Both takes the same Leitmotiv: demoniac women. The comparative method here searches for clarifying the critic comprehension of these works. By taking historical-esthetical particularities, the comparative perspective looks forward to raising the differences between the two stories, concerning their societies and the historical context in which they were written.
