Abstract

The archive is a political representation of what will remain, an impression of winning dispute or of a truth that one wants to formally register. But it is also what has remained interdicted and can be said through choices, political, social, historical, institutional or personal demands to analyze this process, as an objective, we draw a historical-epistemological bridge between the archive and its relation to the forms of truth, traversing the historicity of archival practices, offering greater freedom for a discussion about the archives of the military regime in Brazil. The methodological resource used consisted in the survey and bibliographic analysis in the composition of the argumentative path and in the construction and delineation of the object. We conclude that the file works as potency instead of an imperative testimony about truth or memory. The silences or absences encountered in its handling announce a discursive interruption that must be explored
