Abstract

This study aims to make a brief reflection about the relations between Memory Centers and Information Science. We evidenced in the theoretical body of the study: the concepts undertaken about memory; the difference between memory and history; the places of memory; and the senses undertaken in the construction of dialogues between information and document in Information Science. This study showed that the practice and theory of the field of Information Science are essential for the creation and operation of Memory Centers, since this area enables mechanisms for the appropriation of information, in order to the information flow and knowledge generated.
