The different psychopedagogical activities in a special municipal school for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder

Abstract

The present study aims to report and reflect on the various psychopedagogical actions in a school environment, considering the significant experiences lived in the city of São João de Meriti, in a Special Public School that serves only students who present diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder. The fact that this institution has in its board three psychopedagogues aroused great interest. Thus, this report analyzes their different functions in the school community. The methodological instruments used for data collection were observations, photographs and interviews with all school professionals. This research is substantiated by the works of authors such as Laura Barbosa, Nádia Bossa, Renata Ferreira and Lev Vygotsky. The importance of a psychopedagogue in the school environment is highlighted, as it constantly seeks to improve the teaching and learning process, as well as the prevention, monitoring and solution of learning problems, being a mediator and encouraging the students to develop their potential.
