Mediação Tecnológica na Educação: Os Aportes Teóricos e Práticos da Educomunicação para a Educação a Distância

Resumen

Since computers were introduced in education environments, and especially with the spread of internet in schools, several of theoretical and practical approaches have come to guide the work of educators at the interfaces between technology, media and education. The Center for Communication and Education of the School of Communication and Arts of the University of São Paulo (NCE-ECA/USP) – whose central object of study the field of Educational Communication – has offered a substantial contribution to the development of the concept of Technological Mediation in Education (MTE), which relies mainly on the theoretical framework of authors in the area of Communication - Martín Serrano, Jesus Martín-Barbero and Guillermo Orozco Gómez – and in the pedagogy of Vygotsky and Paulo Freire. Based on academic studies allied to teacher training programs, the NCE has been consolidating an innovative approach in communicational management of media and technologies in the classroom. The aim of our analysis is to present a brief overview of these theoretical and practical contributions based on the concept of the MTE in educational contexts of the brazilian reality, especially for distance education in the training of educators and students of the degree in Educommunication. To support the logic of our argument, we turn to the presentation of examples experienced firsthand by this researcher and proponent to the concepts advocated by the NCE-ECA / USP.
