Cars are among the objects that most represent the evolution of human modernity. This condition is due to multifactorial aspects, including their use based on practical, aesthetic and symbolic functions, which vary according to the type of product. Although the automotive sector recognises the importance of these aspects, understanding how they are organised at the level of interaction between user and product has not been fully explored. The purpose of this study was to understand whether the perception of the practical, aesthetic and symbolic elements of cars can be influenced by the personal repertoire of individuals. Using the Repertory Grid Technique method, it was possible to conclude that users who have a strong relationship with cars look more at the physical and practical aspects of the product, while users who are less interested in cars are more concerned with the aesthetic and symbolic aspects. This reinforces the idea that designers should consider the influence of the user's repertoire when developing their products.
