Abstract

This article is drawn on the hearing of mothers of children with malnutrition, who complain of alimentary issues, and is based, as a theoretical reference, on the psychoanalysis of Freud and Lacan. Besides some peculiarities, the researched children present a clinical condition of malnutrition related to refusal of being fed. The symptom, thus, occurs as a refusal to any food that is not breast milk, which points out to their difficulty to renounce to the object breast and to replace it by other objects/foods. It is possible, thus, to conclude that the diagnosis of infantile malnutrition must take into consideration psychic factors related to the context of the mother-child relation.
