Abstract

This paper discusses the dialogue between psychoanalysis and education on the dimension of ethics. We take into account some of Freud's propositions about education and their proximity to the author's conception of society as well as how these positions are paradoxical. In order to analyze these paradoxes, we use the death drive concept, and we consider that morality becomes a central point in the metapsychological analysis of the educated and socialized subject. Finally, we examine the relation between the ethics of psychoanalysis and education, and we propose that they are different in the way they support the hole in knowledge.
