This work focuses on reading an extract from The Diary of Helena Morley (1942), inspired by the methods proposed by Barthes in S/Z (1970) and Lejeune in Lire Leiris (1975). The goal is to raise issues and images found in journal writing, based on the reading of theoretical texts and analyses of the practice of personal writing, from Blanchot to Lejeune, Rousset and Simonnet-Tenant. The writing of a journal not only articulates family and school issues, but also works as a way for Helena to combine past and future.
