Abstract

We present the translation of two poems by poet and mathematician Sarah Glaz, Professor Emeritus at the University of Connecticut in the United States. The poems translated here are: “Like a mathematic proof ” and “I am a number”, both published in her award-winning book “Ode to numbers,” Antrim House, 2017. The dialogue between mathematics and poetry is the main translation challenge. We sought to preserve the poet’s choices for metaphorical images as far as possible.
