In this text we present particularities on catechetic and civilization of the Indians of the Amazon during the 19th century, and dawn of XX. To become the province of the Empire of Brazil, the Amazon enters the imperial policy surrounded by various hardships and barriers, both were either were geographical policies. One of the big problems listed by several rulers of then was the "deal and use of" Indians "were not fit for the social conviviality" patterns of civilization. However, the young province both lacked arms for the work, which had been glimpsed in the Indians this enjoyment. However, the natives resisted the policy enforcement making the Amazon a place the part of the Empire where the Catechesis and Civilization did not succeed.
