Abstract

This article analyses the standards of specialization followed by militants who began their work in student movements and in underground organizations on the left during the military regime in Rio Grande do Sul. The emphasis lapses in comparing the modalities of careers characterized as "technical-administrative specialization" and "militant specialization", looking for the principal criteria of the political and social hierarchy of the agents. In view of this the resources mobilized and the "choices" made by the agents were examined maintaining in view the "opportunities" available at different junctures and how that translates in terms of position and taking of positions in whether social, professional and political.
